On January 31, 2020, we convened in Los Angeles for the third Beyond the Academy workshop hosted by the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. This workshop was different than the past ones in that it focused on graduate students, and student attendees went through an application process to win an invitation.

On September 19, 2019, we convened at Duke University for the second Beyond the Academy workshop. The workshop was hosted by the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, and the focus was on co-producing sustainability science.

On June 19, 2019, we convened at the David Attenborough Building in Cambridge, England at the end of May for the first in a series of Beyond the Academy workshops.

Workshops are one of the primary mechanisms through which the Beyond the Academy network exchanges ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions for reimagining interdisciplinary scholarship in academic institutions.
