Beyond the Academy is a network of researchers dedicated to addressing real-world problems with impactful research. We believe that to face pressing and complex sustainability issues, academic institutions must encourage:
- interdisciplinary partnerships within and beyond academic settings
- adoption of new metrics to capture the impact of academic research in real-world settings
- problem-oriented projects co-developed with communities and end users
- graduate student success in interdisciplinary endeavors
